Our Data Center

Rack Lodge is a "State of the Art Facility" located within the fiber optic ring of Costa Rica's capital of San Jose.

The facility boasts a direct redundant link to Maya, Arcos and Global Crossing Submarine cables via a shared fiber optic 155 megabit Internet connection using Cisco routers and switches.

Data Center Features:

1. Physical Security: Access to the data center via 5 levels of security:

· 5 security officers per shift control access to the building 24/7/365.

· Building perimeter surveillance via CCTV.

· Magnetic key required to access the reception area, NOC, Telecommunication and Electrical areas.

· Magnetic key and biometric fingerprint required to enter the Data Center area.

· All cabinets and cages have their own locks.

2. Fast Ethernet 100 Mbps full duplex connection between the Data Center area and the internal Telecommunication area via Cisco Catalyst 6000, 3000 and 2900 switches.

3. The Data Center area is completely climate controlled by three independent Liebert MiniMate precision air conditioning units with a fourth Lenox precision air conditioning backup unit installed.

4. All servers are connected to an Uninterrupted Power System backed by redundant Toshiba and Liebert Nfinity UPS’s.

5. Electricity enters the data center from two independent providers and backup electricity is provided via Cummins Diesel electric plants.

6. Fire suppression is provided by FM-200, the best people-compatible, clean agent fire protection for vital facilities. It extinguishes fire via a combination of chemically based fire inhibition and cooling. It is environmentally acceptable, safe to use with sensitive equipment, fast acting, efficient and effective. It deploys quickly and cleanly and won't leave behind oily residue, particles, or water.

7. Structured cabling system utilizing category 6 cables throughout the data center.

8. Access to the data center 24/7/365 accompanied at all times by a Rack Lodge technician.

9. Low level of noise guarantee.

10. Dust free environment.

11. In house Network Operation Center (NOC) providing 24/7/365 Customer and Technical Support.

12. Cisco Central Routing System utilizing Cisco Catalyst 5000 and 3800 switches and routers.

13. Firewall security provided by Lucent Technologies Core Security Firewall System (Redundant Lucent Bricks).

14. Fire-Lite Fire Protection System installed.

15. Core communication redundancy at 200 Mbps via the Maya and Arcos submarine cables.

16. ADT 24/7/365 security monitoring.

17. 24/7/365 monitoring of Internet connections and entire Rack Lodge network.
